The Program
The Tryon Riding and Hunt Club is pleased to announce that it will be awarding college scholarships totaling $6,500 in 2024. Applications are due by May 15 and awards will be announced in June.
The availability of these scholarships is a long-standing tradition that is in keeping with the Club’s core values of philanthropy and service to the community while preserving and enhancing its equestrian heritage.
Applications will be accepted from students living in Polk, Henderson, Rutherfordton, Spartanburg, or Greenville counties. Both graduating high school seniors and students currently enrolled in a college or university are invited to apply, with preference given to those graduating from high school.
The amount of the scholarship award may vary but will be at least $500. Priority will be given to students with ties to the equestrian industry or sport in our area, or those who are a member of a recognized local or national equestrian organization. Financial need will also be a consideration.
Applicants may not be related to any current member of the TR&HC Board of Directors or employed by TR&HC. A financial need statement and interview may be requested. For those who receive a scholarship award, a photo and a media release will be required along with verification of your school enrollment. Payment will be made directly to the recipient’s school. In addition, the scholarship recipient may be requested to volunteer at a TR&HC event.
